Hardwire Vs WiFi For Home or Office
Hardwire Vs WiFi: Why is it, we think that it’s necessary to participate in the next trend of convenience? We easily accepted Wi-Fi as the new method of easy communication in our homes. schools and businesses. The question I began asking myself; is Wi-Fi radiating in my home, 24/7, causing more harm than good?
When did we decide that convenience should always come first?
Wi-Fi quickly became the default method of communication in our homes, schools, and businesses. It’s seamless. It’s wireless. It’s always on.
But that’s exactly what made me pause.
If Wi-Fi is running 24/7 inside our homes, constantly transmitting, is that level of exposure something we’ve fully considered?
A Question That Changed My Perspective
Recently, a customer contacted me saying they couldn’t sleep at night and didn’t understand why.
I asked a simple question:
“Where is your Wi-Fi router located?”
Their answer?
“Directly under our bedroom.”
That moment says a lot.
Most of us never question where these devices are placed. We prioritize signal strength over placement. Speed over strategy. Convenience over awareness.
Why I Chose to Hardwire My Home
I recently made the decision to fully hardwire my home.
Yes, that means:
-
Plugging my laptop into Ethernet
-
Connecting printers directly
-
Running cables intentionally
Was it slightly inconvenient at first? Sure.
Was it worth it? Absolutely.
By switching to a wired connection, I reduced the need for constant wireless transmission inside my home. For me, that decision felt like taking one small step back to take twenty steps forward.
My body feels more at ease. My sleep feels deeper. Even my plants seem happier. And my guests, whether they realize it or not, enter a calmer environment.
For those of us who experience electromagnetic sensitivity, even subtle changes can make a meaningful difference.
An Unexpected Bonus
Here’s something interesting:
My laptop is significantly faster when connected via Ethernet.
Hardwired connections often provide:
-
More stable speeds
-
Lower latency
-
Fewer connection drops
-
Greater cybersecurity stability
Sometimes the “old way” is actually the smarter way.
A Consideration for Your Family
We’ve normalized living in constant wireless transmission zones.
But it’s worth asking:
-
Do we need Wi-Fi running all night?
-
Can we turn routers off when not in use?
-
Can we hardwire key devices?
-
Can bedrooms become low-exposure zones?
No one is saying to eliminate technology. The goal is thoughtful use.
Hardwiring may require a little effort and planning, but for many families, the peace of mind is worth it.
Sometimes the smallest changes create the biggest shifts.
